The Chanel Rouge Allure lipsticks are, as you would expect, buttery and soft, with intense pigmentation and decent staining power. Described as an 'intense apricot', 96 - Excentrique, dares to venture even into the neon orange category, but with warm red and coral undertones this lipstick is classic enough to never look garish. It isn't as yellow toned as MAC Morange, and the closest dupe to it I think is Hourglass' Riviera liquid lipstick.
More than anything though, the packaging is so adorable. The golden bullet is sprung so that one tap on the Chanel emblem and the lipstick clicks slickly out of its packaging; I feel like such a classy lady slipping this out of my purse and applying it in public.
It's bright, make no mistake of that, but if you're looking for a daring shade that's orange enough to take you through to autumn, I would highly recommend.
I bought mine as a Treat Yo'self from Harvey Nichols in Leeds, and felt like a princess. I could easily have bought more, and can't wait to get my hands on further shades.
