Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Review

One of my favourite things to do when I visit a town I haven't been to before, as sad as it sounds, is check out the local Boots. I really like seeing what other stores stock, and don't stock, in comparison to the ones dotted around where I live. Therefore, when I visited Leeds to see Elton John live in concert (by the way he was indescribably fabulous) I had to pay a visit. I have been really enjoying Seventeen's recent rebranding, and so whilst Boots were having a buy one get the second half price deal I thought I'd choose something from the brand to try out.

The embarrassingly titled Phwoarr Paint made me wince, but always on the hunt for the perfect concealer that doesn't crease on me, I thought I'd give it a go, especially for under £6. The consistency is smooth, but tacky; it isn't as wet as my Benefit Erase Paste, but is opaque enough to be a fair budget version. My hopes for the Seventeen concealer weren't high: I've never had a concealer that doesn't crease under my eyes, and even setting it with a powder does not help. As you can see, I applied it with a concealer brush, and though coverage was good, you can see from the after photo I've posted that it creased almost immediately even after setting. Also, if you have dry skin I would not recommend it as I have oily skin, and it actually was quite drying even on my eyes.

The shade selection is poor at best, with only three shades available, and though on my tanned hand the 'fair' shade does look so, I did have to put a white setting powder on to tone this down; I have a feeling it's supposed to be slightly yellow toned to neutralise blueness under eyes, but on a porcelain faced girl, if I was wearing a true to skin foundation shade this would have been very much too dark. I'd say a better colour match is my Collection Lasting Perfection, but the creasing on that is just so noticeable on me that I would prefer to go without.

All in all it isn't a bad concealer, it just doesn't live up to my high expectations, and thus the hunt for a good non-creasing paint continues. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!
